When Special Olympics Australia and global advisory firm Deloitte sought a creative partner to help make the case for Perth as host city of the 2027 World Games, they turned to Loaded.
It was an honour and a responsibility we took seriously and with pride from day one.
Our involvement spanned the full arc of the bid, from the earliest strategic planning sessions through to the final 400-page submission presented to the International Special Olympics committee. At every stage, our team worked alongside some of Australia’s brightest minds to craft a visual and strategic narrative worthy of an event of this magnitude.
The scope of our creative work was substantial. We produced over 30 custom venue illustrations, detailed mapping, and purpose-built venue design visuals, each one carefully considered to communicate Perth’s world-class capability and ambition. We also commissioned a series of bespoke hand-painted watercolours of Perth locations to feature within the submission. Every piece of design was built to inspire confidence in the committee and paint a vivid picture of what the Games could look like on Australian soil.
Beyond the documents, we were hands-on during the international delegation welcome event, including managing the event, designing and soliciting EDM campaigns and electronic invites. When the moment came for the final pitch to Special Olympics International, our work was front and centre.
To have contributed to Australia’s most significant pitch for the world’s largest inclusive sporting event is something the Loaded team remains deeply proud of. The World Games exist to celebrate the ability, courage, and spirit of athletes with intellectual disabilities, and having the opportunity to champion that cause through our craft was a privilege we will not forget.
